Google Drive — Backup & Restore only

Cashlytics uses Google Drive exclusively to back up and restore your personal finance database. We request the narrowest possible scope and never access files outside of Cashlytics' own app folder.

  • ✓ What we upload: a single SQLite database file containing your ledger entries, notebook notes, and SMS sender whitelist.
  • ✓ Where it lives: your Google Drive App Data folder — private to you, invisible to other apps and Drive's file browser.
  • ✓ What we never do: read, modify, or list any files outside the Cashlytics app folder. No contacts, photos, documents, or other Drive files are ever accessed.
  • ✓ When it runs: only when you explicitly tap "Back up now" or "Restore". No background sync without your action.
  • ✓ Your data stays yours: you can delete the backup from Google Drive settings at any time, independent of the app.

Your data never leaves your device — except when you choose to back it up

SMS messages are read and parsed entirely on-device. Transaction data is stored in a local Room database and is never transmitted to our servers. The only outbound data is the backup file you explicitly upload to your own Google Drive account. We have no server-side storage, no analytics on your financial data, and no way to access your transactions. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
